Jenna Fischer has become best well-known for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she played on The Office. For this character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and also an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her mother, Anne played in plays at church while she was a kid, which instilled a love of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna was attracted by her mother's church performances as she began her career.
Theater actress with training, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. She starred with Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway production Reasons to be Happy. Then, she starred in Steve Martin's new play Meteor Shower. It was a comedy that was absurd, starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for record breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer created Office Ladies, a podcast hosted by Earwolf on October 19, 2019. The podcast has proven to be an enormous success, making its Top Ten worldwide every week, and receiving more than 200 million downloads during the first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
She's also the author of The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey) The book tells her journey to St. Louis to Hollywood as a professional actress is narrated. The Office BFF's : The Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends That Were There is also a memoir of Angela Kinsey and herself, and their collaboration for The Office.
