Following the strike many students across the globe took part in Thunberg's #FridaysforFuture movement. Students opted to skip Friday school in protest against global warming. Global climate activists joined forces in 2019 to coordinate the Global Strike for Climate. It was hugely successful; over 1.6million individuals from 100 countries participated.
