April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and taking piano lessons which ignited her passion for music writing. At the age of 12, she composed her first single Different. The year she turned 14 was when she was devoted for a long period of time in making song lyrics and working on her music. She began writing alongside her father at home in NY and LA within a short time. April also began incorporating various other topics relevant to the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle influencer as well as having partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large audience. As a woman born with no left hand, she is an important part of herself. But it's not the entire tale. The profile of Lockhart on Twitter does not ignore the fact that she is disabled however, it doesn't concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. What message does it convey? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and that we're much greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability should define me. It's not my intention to influence disabilities because I've got plenty to offer." My daily life isn't affected by it. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to problems. Since it's a an integral part of me and something worth talking about. Her journey to self-acceptance will be one that lasts a lifetime, but she has been a source of inspiration with regard to this. She still admits having gone through a series of phases in her body, and felt insecure at times to wear outfits that showcased her arms. She wears what she likes and posts photos of herself in the outfits she chooses on social media. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not a place to go. However, that is common for anyone that is prone to doubts. People you associate yourself with, who know your personal story and who can look inside your soul are the best people who can remind you of the things you're worrying about.
